Lucia Van Der Post Interior Designers London
The Project
In September 2003 the writer Lucia Van Der Post asked us to re-design her double aspect drawing room.
The brief was to bring it into the 21st Century whilst incorporating her favourite pieces such as paintings and furniture. The final stipulation was that the project had to be carried out in the shortest timeframe.
2 weeks of planning and 3 weeks of decoration and the project was finished.
On Friday 9th of January 2004 the interior designers london project was described in the 'Bricks and Mortar' section of The Times newspaper.
Perspectives
Part of the planning process was to draw a perspective of the proposed design to give a feel of the finished room.
2 of the 3 perspectives show the main drawing room from different angles whilst the 3rd shows the new library adjoining it.
The Map room
The Project and Plans of this interior designers london follow below:
Completed in December 2003 The Map Room is a 2 bedroom flat in Westminster, featuring a stunning printed floor map.
As the basement of a house, it had been converted into a pied-a-terre dominated by a vast reception room with a single corridor bedroom. In the 20 years that had elapsed the flat had fallen into dis-repair and the project brief was to completely redesign it.
By inserting a curved wall into the large reception room we created a space for a bathroom and study whilst retaining it's depth.
A small extension created a double bedroom. These features provided the key to successfully planning and developing the flat.
42 Harley Street
42 Harley Street is a new type of dental practice.
The brief was to create a practice that appears as non-clinical as possible, using contemporary design ideas as if it were a residential project.
The theory behind this is to make clients feel as comfortable as possible and to relate to the design like it's their home or a private members club.
The result is a very contemporary design with an empahasis on relaxed, natural colours, soft lighting and luxurious details such as Linley chairs and
handmade wenge fitted furniture.
Feel free to browse through the rest of our projects. You should see why we have become a very popular choice for those looking for interior designers in London.
